Can you introduce yourself ?
We are the second generation of farmers in Bellegarde. We have been established since 2005 and our land has been organic since 1989. We work in greenhouses, occasionally in the open field and since 2021 we have had an apple persimmon orchard.
Organic, the profession, why these choices?
Organic, there was simply no question of doing otherwise. For the profession, the motivation is to work with and in nature. And the purpose of our job is to feed humans. It’s not nothing.
How do you make a beautiful fruit or a beautiful vegetable?
It’s a job that requires a lot of observation, of cultures and of the environment. You shouldn’t hesitate to talk to your fruits and vegetables either… In organic farming, you also have to maintain and nourish the soil so that it itself nourishes the plant. We seek a balance between the plant and the environment to limit the attacks of bioaggressors and diseases.
What does the Coop represent for you?
Thanks to the union of producers, we have a technical and commercial force superior to that which we would have alone. There is an efficient commercial organization and we appreciate the good understanding between producers.
