Tell us about your work
We have been producing hazelnuts for two generations, and my father was already organic before I took over the business. And I fully intend to stay organic for my future plantations. I like being my own boss in this job and, of course, the great outdoors.
The cultivation of hazelnuts, in organic, has specifics?
The hazelnut adapts very well to organic. It has no pests, like the Balanin, which is absent in Corsica. And I don’t have any fungal issues either.
Why are you a member of the Coop?
One of my friends, also a farmer and member of Uni-Vert, told me about the cooperative and the way they worked. I found the process interesting. Its strong point is also financial security.
