What do you grow?

I have been an organic apple producer since 2019. 9 hectares in all. I started a professional retraining a few years ago and my employer was an apple grower.

What do you like in your job?

Working in an orchard full of life. Understand the relationships between species, good or bad. See beautiful fruit on the trees.

Why did you choose organic farming?

To try to do otherwise. Give people a choice.

How do we make organic?

I rely on the experience of farmers who preceded me, on scientific research passed on by agricultural technicians. I also get regular updates on the state of research. And then I make mistakes, it helps not to make any more.

Why the COOP?

The coop was a partner of my former employer. She supported me a lot in my installation. Its dynamism in favor of its members, its avant-garde actions in many areas: fair trade, waste management, energy, etc. are important to me.

How do you manage to have “beautiful” fruits and vegetables?

You need good partners: the trees. Good advice from farmers. Lots of care, lots of work. Attention throughout the year to understand the infinite interactions between plants, animals, climate, etc. Thoroughness.
